After the install finished, wireless connections became available when I clicked on the connections symbol in the system tray linux mint broadcom. That is linnux the LiveUSB is for, to test the waters before committing.

I’ve also linux mint broadcom uninstalling everything with synaptic package manager including broadcom-sta-common and broadcom-sta-sourcethen restarting and running the above commands which didn’t work either.
